I started life on the F-4s, then went on to B-52s (D, G & H models), then to the F-15C/D then the SE, the F-16, FB-111, A-10 and finally the F-117.Welcome to the club, ex-Air Force F-16 crew chief, retired UNITED airlines. Beautiful view BTW and you bought one of sea rays best cruisers in the 330DA
Ahhhh, MacDill AFB, I was there 84-86, before heading to Kunsan AB, Korea, good times with the F-16Oh so your a bad-a$$!
My grandpa was a career Air Force man. He was a mechanic but never flew. He was stationed in England during WW2 with the B-17’s doing bombing runs to Germany. He had his work cut out for him to say the least. He was stationed at Kelly in San Antonio post war and most of his career, but retired in Florida. (Haines City). I remember he used to do weekly trips over to MacDill to get his meds and shop at the commissary. Maybe you guys rubbed shoulders a time or two.
Huge fan of all the planes you mention. I did a show in the mid 2000’s called Dogfights on the History Channel. We would go interview pilots about certain events/air battles and re-create those battles in CGI for the show. It was truly an honor to sit down with those guys. Fred Olmsted and his F-4 stories were incredible. Maybe you met/flew with him?
My pleasure sir!!Thank you for your service also!
I saw Kadena AB twice, once in 1977 and then again in '84. My native CA had me at March AFB and then at Castle AFB (both B-52 bases). The long duration was 9 years at Eglin doing both weapons and telecommunications. Finally, I retired from Anderson AFB on Guam where I was the wire branch chief in charge of all the telephony groups on base.Where were you stationed? I did my residency at Sheppard, then 3 years at Maxwell.
Thanks, and again, it was our (me, wife and kids) honor to serve!Mr Mac thanks for your service beautiful home and boat congrats on both
My son is an Airman at Wright Patterson thanks again.
