Hello:
just purchase a 260 with my wife and will like input about the boat. I will appreciate all your help since I am a newbie in all the aspects of sea ray boats. Thanks

260 OV or DA?

Never mind. Didn't see your details using Tapatalk...
Congrats on your 260DA

Any suggestions on how to get comfortable with the trim tabs..?

leave them up all the way
start boating
start playing with them slowly
the faster you go, the faster you feel the effects
slow "bumps" on the buttons will make a difference

make sure you understand how the tabs work with the buttons. think of the buttons as representations of your boat. the top of the button represents the bow and bottom of button represents stern. if you want the port bow down you push the top of the left button...

congrats on the new boat and get out and enjoy

What AFD said on the tabs, just little changes at first until you get the feel for what they do. Congrats on the new boat.

Appreciate the input... I am getting a hang cruising around but not on choppy waters. Lot of people had given me fear when they talk anout the tabs and choppy waters..! I am in the Chessapeake Area which we get some choppy days.

Hey Angel, wait a darn minute. There's one main rule on CSR---->If you don't post pictures, it didn't happen.

Just kidding, sort of. We all like to see pics of the boat, of your family using it and the places where you boat.

But until you get some pics, welcome aboard!

ATD, that is the best explanation of trim tabs I have ever read! AngeIR, what he said! Welcome to CSR. Once my tabs are set I leave them alone, but you do need to have a understanding of how they work. Every time someone moves front to back or side to side the trim of the boat will change. Operating a boat is a lot about the feel of the boat, how does the boat feel to you. If the boat feels as if it's digging on one side trim it up, if the bow is high trim it down but as ATD has said small bumps till every thing feels right to you. Then pray no one moves around...then you start all over again. Have fun with the girl, give her a fitting name and go explore the upper bay, safely!

Just hope the trim tab buttons are wired correctly and not backwards like mine were...

Do you trailer to the bay? Ever out on the tidal Potomac? I go out of Occoquan or Chesapeake Beach usually.

Welcome to the forum, I hope you get lots of use out of your boat this season.

I used to be all over the Potomac and Chesapeake area with my smaller boat. Just got this one and it would be dock in Port Tobacco MD. Basically

Hopefully now you guys can see the boat... Struggling with the upload

I had tried to upload the pics but have no clue why they don't show!!!!

Thank you I will, hope to see you around and share a beer or soda""""

Thank you. Had to work now straight til Thursday....we have new boat fever and have not gone out yet.....it sucks..just play with the boat for 30 minutes in the water to get the trim tabs issue down...

Just got the boat and have not being able to really go out. My wife is a nurse and I am a police officer so our schedule suck! I will post more pics when we go out and if you guys have any suggestions in the area there are more than welcome....

That's a nice area. The further south on the river the better. The boat looks great BTW!

Hey guys had a great season even though I could not be much out. Visited many areas on the lower Potomac and the Chesapeake Bay area. Visited regularly Tims 1 & 2 and Gilligan's on the MD side. There are many areas which I found out I did not explored and it kind of sucked. I will post my pics this week. Also Fitz is a cool restaurant with a friendly environment and good food. The Coles Point Marina in the VA side is a great place to stop and stay..great amenities and service. All around the expereince was great, so I will like to meet some of you guys out there to learn more about the areas and make some friends.
