Need to clarify. Land gas stations all have ethanol. Marina gas docks sell non ethanol. I take my 1 gallon gas can to the gas dock and get gas for the outboard there.
Previously the wife wanted a dinghy with a steering wheel. She changed her mind, but still wanted something easier to use. So I electrified our dinghy. Went with a torqeedo and it is incredible. Dead silent, you can hear the water lapping off the dinghy which is great. We did our normal evening trip, met some dinghy friends halfway through and tied up to them. I pulled them back to there dock so that we could chat in silence and still had 66% battery remaining. And the control of the electric motor is phenomenal. I wasn’t expecting that aspect, but switching from forward to reverse and being able to take the rpm down to 50rpm or so gives you incredible control, even with a tiller steer.
Me, this morning, have I mentioned I retired… OH, while doing this, I got a call from ‘work’ asking how to fix a problem.
Good for her. Mine won’t touch the handle. We been boating 30 years and she still refuses to drive anything. She will get under boat in low 40 deg to scrape and paint. Just wont drive.
Just fyi, I ordered a cowling / head cover from Ocean South, came today, Nice, felt lined, UV and waterproof. Elastic hem. $30 for my 2.5 up to about $100 for the big boys. Recommend.
