270 Sundeck!

Looks pretty slick, watching the vid I like it a little better than my initial impression from the pics. Nice port side storage .
I also like it appears they included a pedestal base in the floor for a table if one wants.
The new walkthrough is kind of nice, after all on my Sport 190 we hardly ever remove the small cushion on the bench seat and open the wing to use our walk through as intended, this new one would seem to be more functional. However my wife has long legs, and would not be crazy about the shortened sun pad.

The 21 SPX pics are up at the Sea Ray gallery. I do love my boat, but the flexibility of the 21's floor plan (I'm a big fan of towboat style seating) and the fact that Perfect Pass is offered would've made that a VERY strong option for me.

If they allow a buyer to combine the Select (Higher End Trim) and Elevation (Watersports) packages, that would be a very attractive package with the 4.5 and Perfect Pass.

I wish they'd offer the SLX/Sundeck colors on the SPX. Blue and red and fine, but I like the darker tones on the other lines, not quite as bright.

21 SPX!

I think this might be a pre-production model, as there's no door opening for the large storage area under the glove box...

What is with the seats in the bow area? Those dont look comfortable at all. Barely any pad on the back rests and no pad around the sides?!? are they cheaping out?

Here is my 2005 240 Select... .COMFY and CURVY

I like some of the finishes in these newer boats. 2013 styling is nice. But I am not sure I like any of these boats as much from 15 ft away... I like a point on the front and curves.

MBW, for a more "apples to apples" comparison, take a look at the SLX lineup.

I am under the impression that the SPX line is going to come in very "competitvely priced", hence the rather austere interior and helm. The SELECT option package is intended to luxe it up with additional padding, helm treatment, stainless fittings, etc. Waiting to see how the MSRP and package pricing come in on these.

interesting... i guess if its cheap that is different. Still odd to see on a a searay. Doesn't brunswick own a few other brands to cheap out with?

OK, I'm going to try and not answer this with any type of 'sales pitch' as that is totally NOT why I am on this forum. I'm just a boater that happens to work at a dealership. The older 'Sport' series have always had less "going on" in the cockpit (less vinyl, for example) and not as many options available. So, from a very cursory look (pictures) they may appear cheaper. But the design and engineering that goes into the boat is the same as the SLX. The materials being used (vinyl, seat foam, hardware, gelcoat) are exactly the same quality, too. There's less "stuff", but they're still a Sea Ray. If you look at them in person and compare them to the "others" - or even better, ride on them! - the difference is quite obvious. "Cheaper" would be a misnomer - they are less expensive, but by no means are they cheap (meaning of lesser quality).

While the non-Select package SPX isn't for me (it's just too...austere) I do think it's important to get buyers who are new to boating, or have decided to buy their first *new* boat and want (or need) to keep the entry cost down. I think there's been a post on here regarding the success Chapparal has had with their H20 series. Well, I'd be willing to bet that when those folks are ready to go bigger...they'll be buying an SSi or a Sunesta. I'm a good example of that. Came back to boating (after being away for YEARS) with a 2010 185, then went to a 190, and now the 230.

Of course, I'm assuming that these boats are going to be aggressively priced!

FYI,
The 19SPXon display at FLIBS is boatshow priced a $34,900. Base model 19SPX starts $26K. Per the talking head at the display.

The SPX pages are live on the website. Pricing appears to be below the Sports. I like the layout if the SPX's, but it looks like they aren't offering the "Select" interior upgrade package in the U.S.? Not that I'm in the market, but that disappoints me. The standard seating and dash are fine for the aggressive price point, but I'd need the Select package. I only see a stainless components option.
