Hey there

Just found this site while ago, great to see all the loyal Sea Ray owners joined up again. Was very bumed when the old site went away and have lots of info to catch up on.

Bought a SD220 w/Mag 350 & B3 back in '03 and have loved it ever since. Factory tower and all the goodies

Boat has been sweet from day one. Had a few issues. Lost a seat cushion first time out when the engine hood popped open on a bump and dislodged it enough to take flight. Didn't realize we could tow with the snap on covers. Have been ever since. Keeps everthing snug and prob get a little better MPG too.

Only break down was the raw water impellar disintegrated at 150 hrs. Luckily was just outside of no wake and was able to limp in. Easy fix just a little hard to get to. Need to get on the engine forum to find where all the rubber went. Got some out but know there is more in there. Running about 190-200 at full scoot, was a steady 170 before. (Side note on access- Any one ever seen the starter on a SD220 much less changed it. Pull the motor??)

Left out plug ONCE, Left trim down ONCE. Have a little 45 degree mitered angle on drive now, smoothed it out and painted, looks stock(Insert smiley with rolling eyes)Bought a set of props ONCE. Wifey said I trashed them on purpose to get shiney stainless.(More eyes)

Scarriest was noticing winch strap with a tear loading one day. Went swimming and put on the transom straps to be sure. Half way up ramp BOOM, strap broke but rears held. My kids don't bug me anymore to ride the boat out. Big ass heavy duty strap now, but still need to rig up a safety chain/cable, next project.

Just installed new Maxxis last week, seven years on the Marathons, great piece of mind. (Good rep from this and the RV forums, Thanks). Do you remember before the internet!!! One had just started to seperate on the inside. Didn't notice until it was off, definetly would have blown on Thurs going across the desert.

Pulled into the Quagga Mussel check point at the CA-NV border today and dude points out my spare was dragging on the corner, only the cable was holding it on. THAT could have been a disaster, it mounts by the front tongue. My dumb ass anal self didn't want to put little indentations in the spare so undertightend the hold down bolts. Four words-Double nut, Double nut.

The times my family and friends have had are priceless and will never be forgotten and more than make up for the incidents that are inevitable in our little hobby.

Actually, just got back from Mead and came on to look for info on the cause of having no trailer brakes. Couldn't find anything and figured better post here first. Well off to the trailering forum for more help from all the great Sea Rayers

Thanks
