Our boat was originally named the "Knotty Lady". It came complete with a playboy style decal of a woman standing next to the steering wheel. That was not going to stand with my wife so off it came. The bad luck for renaming the boat idea worried her so we have renamed the boat the same phonetically but different spelling. It is now the "Nauti Lady" and the playboy decal is gone. I applied the vinyl a few weeks ago.

Yes we purged the boat completely of its old name with lots of rubbing compound and polish and then with Rum and Southern Comfort to appease the gods she was then renamed. I told my wife I am going to have shirts made for the whole family with Nauti Lady Crew on them. I was told that no one will wear them however. I have to work on that.

Laquer Thinner and paper towels does wonders to remove glue. I use it all the time. Just re-wax when your done.

Aren't boats always cursed, no matter what the name? I've never had a boat that didn't seem to curse my life!

Luckily my boat never had a name, but I certainly asked that Neptune recognize the name I gave her and grant safe passage on the seas while offering a generous amount of "spirits" to the King himself. Never the less, you have a beautiful boat and I will pour some out for the "Nauti Lady" the next time I get out. Safe boating.
