I found the boat up in Salt Lake area a couple of years ago. It had 425 hours and was well cared for by two owners. I bought it specifically for Powell, but we hit Blue Mesa now and then. Looks like my Powell trip will interfere with the height of the Mackinaw season on Blue Mesa. I just missed having a boat, having owned a Sea Ray (250 i think) on Lake Roosevelt in Washington and a Tolleycraft Sedan in SE Alaska. I also missed the toil and joy of ownership. This gives me something to do as the winter winds down. Nothing like dumping money into a hole in the water, what a joy! I really like the 268 layout, though the beam is a little shy, it is as big as I want to tug with my Dodge diesel. The Classic 268 and her whole family really are attractive boats and have that older build quality that gives you the right feel.

Many happy days with full coolers and few scary days too. It wouldn't be boating otherwise.

What's the top speed and cruising speed on yours? Any particular problems you have had? Fuel consumption? I am guessing about a mile per gallon.
.....I run 21P on the props and i'm around 700 to 900 ft Ele. so on Table rock Lake , light load , 45 MPH GPS. I like to run around 30 MPH . So if i was on Powell i would be running about the same top speed as yours. Fuel Consumption ? just depends , if i was on Powell i would know for sure , but here i don't have any concerns with fuel , fill her up and go , by the time she gets to half a tank i'm ready to go back home .The only problem i had with this boat i finding time to get away to use her.

Pretty boat! Took you long enough to get here, but now that you've made it...welcome!

Thanks everyone! You are driving my crazy with your nice boats. If I lived coastal, I would definitely be running a 30' plus Searay. I do remember a unique boat from Washington, it was around a 40 footer? It had the drives placed in tunnels in the hull. I swam underneath it and will never forget. Cool boat.

One thing I know, is that our boats serve no other purpose than for fun. How many things in life are like that?

Jedi JD, I just had to get a feel for the place. There are some intense boat people here. When I first started boating (before the internet), I relied upon the community of boaters around me. Now I don't have that (being inland) so this is way cool.
