Hello,
I'm jsledd in Va. My wife Kathy and I live on Claytor Lake, in Pulaski County. I've been restoring/using an SRV245DB Sea Ray flybridge cruiser for about five years. The boat was not in bad condition when I bought it in Northern Maryland. It needed controls, upholstery, carb, rear access panels and other basic TLC. I found, in the second year that the forward Ujoint bellows flange had been shattered and repaired with plastic so I replaced the gimbal housing. I'll bet some of you know what a job that was! The single 228 Mercruiser is origonal, as far as I can tell and runs like a fine watch. I'm afraid to check the compression but the oil runs about 40psi. with very little blow-by. This is the second and probably the last cabin boat restoration that I will do. I,m getting older and don't enjoy greese and fg dust like I use to. I think that our next craft will only need the TLC (if that). I wish I had found this forum five years ago, although I still have a few things to fix before this boat is perfect. That was stupid! There's no such thing as a perfect boat. I'll be watching the threads.
Thanks!!
