My three blade props were good for my wide open throttle rpm (4800)so I dropped 1" in pitch and my wide open rpm is still 4800 with a dirty bottom so it worked out good. Had 14" x 20 pitch 3 blade stainless replaced with 14 1/8" x 19 pitch 4 blade stainless. my motors are 4.3 LX which have a weber 4 barrell on them and are rated at 180 HP each so if your HP is different you might need to adjust a little. Best thing I did to that boat, low speed handling is greatly improved, gets on plane quicker, can run slower speed and still stay on plane and fuel usage has declined so over all am happy with switch and I ran these new props all summer so I put them thru the test.

Just saw the South Florida post and had to read. How is the docking going, you never followed up. Did you get it down?

Well I got a great captain here who spent three or four hours with me. I was doing very well but the boat isn’t doing so well. I have spent thousands trying to get it going but still have some issues that prevent me from using the boat. Hopefully I will get them resolved soon.

Care to elaborate a little on the problems?
My boat is about the same age with the same engines. Just wondering if I can get ahead of the problems your boat is experiencing.

Currently I am waiting for a carburetor to be rebuilt so I can start my port engine and get it to the haul out. I have shifting problems in my starboard alpha drive that might be a kinked shift cable along with an oil leak in the same drive. I’m going to service both drives while it is out. I also have a loose steering wheel that might need the whole steering assembly at the helm replaced.

Yea, seems you are working through a few issues right now. None seem to be too major by itself.

How are your steering pins seals on the transom assemblies? Have they been checked for leakage? I just did mine this week.

I haven’t done the work yet but will add this to the list.
