Hi, just found this forum. Long time boater.....jon boats and other fishing boats....then had a Stratos Bass Boat for ten years, then moved up to a 95 baja 208 Islander 3 years ago and fell in love with pleasure boating. Currently looking to move up again to a small/medium cruiser. Currently I have a bead on a 99 Sundancer 260 DA. We boat on the Mississippi River in SE Iowa.

In addition to what Dennis mentioned, you may want to give www.scuttlebutt.com a look. There is a mid / late 90's 330DA and a late 80's 340 Express, and a 27ft? Wellcraft on our dock for sale....not completely sure on the $$ on any of them though.

What pool do you boat in? Pool 9 & 10 are among the prettiest that I have traveled on the Mississippi.

I even went scuba diving off my boat in the Mississippi a couple of weeks ago. (Actually in a quarry attached to the river.) I had dropped my St. Croix rod and Shimano reel and some other stuff in. After the cussing, it dawned on my that I'm a certified diver. I found the stuff just after I started my second tank of air. Let me tell you, there's not much life on the reef down there.

Thanks everyone for the welcome and the info! There is a ton of nice boats for sale all over....I'm in no rush to buy, just looking for the best boat for us that is in our price range. We boat on pools 16 and 17 south of the Quad Cities. We mostly hang out at the Island beaches and sunken Islands abchoring or tying up to other boats. The kids (13 and 15) and their friends love to tube, so I still want a boat that has that capability. I doubt the DA would be as quick and manuerverable as the Baja Hot Rod, but I know we can still tube with it. The bathroom is a necessity according to my significant other. I do like the additional seating on deck, the sink and cooler, and the ability to go into the berth and take a nap or cook breakfast....plus have a place to get out of the weather for my fair weather deck mates. :grin: Currently the girls are always popping over to my buddies 290 to use the facilities, and if it gets a little rainy or stormy, we are having to head for the dock.

I'll post some pics of the boat that I am planning to look at and test drive tonight. Some of the main things I like about it are: One owner, very clean, never stored in water, 454 MPI, trailer included, full camper canvas, etc.

It's getting old trailing the Baja....I have a very tight garage...I currently back the trailer in the drive, drop it, then get my little kubota out (that has a hitch on the bucket) then I use the tractor to manuever the boat and trailer into the garage with only about 1" on each side to spare....its a pain!

Our plan is to find a boat that we can keep in the marina that is always ready to jump in and go...we would get a lot more use out of it for sure, especially on those days where we only have a few hrs or id the weather is not quite predictable. I also would like to have a trailer for cleaning, maintenance, storage, etc.
