Hello all.
After some time reading around the forum it's time to introduce myself.
I am a former marine engineer from The Netherlands and nowadays working as a Technical Superintendent for an oceangoing shipping company.
Since 2015, and after 6 years having fun with a Norwegian build cuddy cabin, I am owning a wide beam 1998, Sea Ray 270 Sundancer and enjoying her a lot. Reading around the forum the boat seems quite unique as she is a twin diesel boat equiped with 2 x 165 hp (VM) Mercruiser D-Tronic 2.8 engines. As far as I know this was an option in 1998, but I have no idea how many have been build. Engine hours today are about 960 and both engines are running fine, but as boat is having some (known) lack of maintenance, some attention is required.
I hope I can give some assistance to this forum from my side and I am looking forward to a good communication.

Brgds, Hille

Hille, welcome to CSR. I've often wondered why SR and other boat makers didn't offer boats in that size range in the US. Yanmar makes several diesel engines that could work in single or pairs in many boats.

There would be a large increase in the selling price but that would be partially offset by the increased fuel efficiency and increased resale value.

How about sharing some photos of your engine room?

Hallo Hille,

Nice to see a fellow countryman!

There are a view more Dutch on CSR, but wasn't aware of the map option..updated my location.

I make most miles in Zeeland and Northsea.

Hello all,

Thanks for replies.

Enclosed an engineroom picture as requested. I was having a look around my files and it appears I don't have so much of these available. Will take some additional pictures when the boat will be back in the water as she is now covered for the winter. Picture was taken during winter preparations and cover of SB engine was removed for dismantling the aircooler.

@robert; my primary sailing area is Randmeren and Markermeer, but Zeeland is prefered area for holidays. Last time I was there was in 2016 and I am planning to pass again next summer.
