What do you guys think of the new MasterCraft 300? They refer to it as a Luxury Day Yacht. I think it's hot, personally. It has an innovative design in this class of boat, a great layout and it looks sexy. Look at the layout...perfect for guests and socializing...rear facing sunpads...tons of teak. I am curious to see the price when it rolls out....and I think their timing might be good for this new model. The economy is on its way up and it seems like the boating industry has passed rock bottom.

It's time for some innovation...

This BoatTest video is good but it doesn't look at the cabin:

Dead sexy. I think I heard that with every option included you were at $490K.

The smoked glass hard top is awesome. The cabin looks like you could spend a night or two on the hook, but not much longer. I am curious as to price point, as their boats tend to be on the upper end in the ski boat segment from what I remember.

Nice looking boat from a good manufacturer. But, that thing will ride like a buckboard or farm wagon with that hull shape and those chines in a chop.......be thinking "Lake Boat".

I climbed all over that boat at the boat show. It's tight, not much room to move around. It basically looks like a bachelor pad inside almost to the cheesy point. Not much room on the bow. very sporty cockpit.

Nice, I like the inboards...but that bow is definitely too weird! Can you imagine it going through a big one?

And I do not like when you cannot see if the anchor is up or not.

Whatch carefully the video by boatest, at 2:33, is that a through hull or a led light beneath the water line??? :wow:

The "girls" didn't dig this boat so much. Dave and I were all over it thinking "How cool would this boat be if we were single". The girls didn't even climb on the boat, but thought it would be funny to hide our shoes while we were climbing around.

The boat was released in 2009 at the Miami Show. Sales have been less than stellar in the year since it's introduction. I think it incorporated some neat ideas in design.
A niche boat that few of us fit into.

Boat looks cool but I would be skeptical. Big boat for a small boat company. Now if Ski Nautique made it I would endorse it. I've had both. I own a Ski Nautique.

Mikes right , cool hot James Bond type batchelor stud pad! Not for the respectable woman. Definately a little "Tiger" boat.

My neighbor is a big time skier and a Nautique guy...he said the same thing. Somehow Nautique could make a better big boat than MasterCraft? Nautique and MC is like Ford and Chevy owners.

I went through one yesterday at the Miami Boat Show. Does nothing for me. It's a lake boat only which is fine. There are much better wakeboard boats and it's far too fat to ski behind. If you want a party pad there are lot's of boats at 30' that are better at that with more room at substantially less money.

As far as MC goes, I think their quality sucks and the reputation is from days long gone in the prostar era. My MC has had more go wrong with it than any boat I've owned. From the trailer to the S/W for the motor. In my mind, MC is now the third player in the market behind Nautique and Malibu.

Off topic, but since you are a S2 owner, what did you think of the new 4300 Open ?

Ditto Tom. Mastercraft has gone to the dogs. If you place a Nautique next to a Masterraft there is no comparison. I think Masterraft went for the mass building of their boats and that was their demise.

This is more of the same. Heavy on the glitter and light on the quality. I couldn't get a firm price but the rep intimated it's $430kish loaded with Cummins and high $300's for gas. I think they've run down a cul de sac with this one.
