Hey guys,
The original carpeting in my 330 was tired and dirty. I replaced it, most of it anyway, with infinity woven PVC.

It is all snapped down except the step risers I glued. The hatches were the tough part (aren't they always?). After removing the carpet the hatches were 1/2" to small. I added to them. Binding the flooring around that area was a nightmare. They are not perfect but passable.

I painted the floor after removing the carpet. I also put down some underlayment made for laminate flooring for a tiny bit more cushion and more sound deadening.

I am pleased with the results, here's some pics for your viewing enjoyment:

Looks good to me. Was it easy to work with and how was the old carpet to take up.
Old carpet was not fun....but easier than expected. Infinity is easy to work with but the size and shape of the main piece made binding it around the edge difficult.

It can be glued down which is another option.

I agree that "Niche' " as a second career is outstanding! You have out done yourself Quint. Good Job, JC

Thanks guys. My boat is my experimental lab for canvas and Infinity flooring...ha ha.

My biggest problem with the business is, everybody wants their canvas / flooring done in Spring and Summer. Well.... I live to boat in the Spring and Summer......so my boat is sitting dirty in the slip in need of engine tune ups....buff and wax....bottom paint ...etc!!

Still looking for that perfect business that pays thousands a week and requires almost no work!!!!

In case you missed it, here is a few pics of a 48DB I just did in the same color Infinity. What an awesome boat.

Very nicely done. That looks at least as good as a factory installation. I would be it's quieter with that Pergo underlayment on the floor.

Looks great. I hope I made the right decision paying extra for Infinity as a SeaRay "upgrade" option. It doesn't look as soft as the Snap in carpet but I always hated the smell of the black under matting they used and it never dried quickly.

I think you will like the Infinity but, it is very different than carpet. Totally different feel and look, which is why I like it.

Did I miss you are getting a new boat?

Yes, but smaller though. A 19 Footer. It's been a long 4 years without one. I've heard good things about the Infinity so I'm sure I'll like it as much as you.

Dave, as you know I recently did the same to my two staterooms. My areas were small enough that I just lay the full flooring piece over the removable storage panels, then I just pull away the flooring to get in the hatches. They aren't frequently used compartments, so far it's not irritating. Anyway, the factory carpet I pulled up was wrapped around and under the storage panel. And went down the sides of the storage opening. So there was no binding or snaps. It was all glued. Is there a reason you couldn't do that in your application? If I get tired of pulling back carpet to access the storage panels I will probably replicate that factory install.

I think the "wrap over" method would be an excellent way to handle the hatches. If I had it to do over I may have done it that way in the first place. If you look at my steps, that is kind of how I handle them.
