I had a Lifetime SUP board but @ about 50 lbs, and made of ridged HDPE, it is hard to manage for anyone but me. The girls had a good time on it, but I think the wife and I were looking for a kayak, as the SUP is a little more work physically than we can muster for very long.

I bought a Sea Eagle 385 Fast track inflatable that should allow us to kayak solo or in tandem, and also operate it as a SUP board. Seems like a nice addition to the lake toy collection.

I got it set up today, and took time to put 303 on it to protect it. Looking forward to the maiden voyage.

Anybody else a kayak'er?

We have a Sea Eagle SUP for my kids. It has a dropstitch construction and is very stiff when inflated yet is light.

I pass the Sea Eagle office Econ time I go to boat.

This has a drop stitch floor in the bottom that allows it to be rowed standing up ala SUP board style, but also provides a hard chine at the water line. They made a lot of best of lists. Its built very solid for sure!

Which SUP do you have? I was going to augment this with a cheap inflatable SUP board...neighbor at the dock has a $100 10'6 inflatable that is solid as a rock. But, trying to support my Made in the USA types!

I was a white water kayaker & guided rafting trips, but the kayaks I had were a LOT different than yours. Not nearly as comfortable. Very hard to paddle in a straight line on a lake like yours, too. That looks like a really nice setup, love the back rests/supports!

Really proud of you, spending too much time messing around on boats to insulate and finish the garage walls. Just the ways it’s supposed to be! Lol.

Just hired a guy to finish the basement! Unfortunately, took time away from boat projects cleaning up all the boat crap down there!

I see alot of the inflatables paddling around the marina but I have yet to see a sea eagle. Most of the inflatables I have seen look flimbsy, Your Sea Eagle looks like it should stay quite rigid. It would be cool if they came with a pedal drive like the Hobbie line of kayaks have.

These are (depending on model good up to class IV rapids, so extremely solid. You can add a trolling motor and mount for about $250 (still need a battery), or set it up as a fishing platform. They make a specific fishing version as well. I looked hard at the Hobie line of pedal kayaks. This thing is like a RIB or high quality dink. Its solid, not flimsy at all.

We have the HB96 model. That's they "hybrid", 9' 6" model, designed for some waves. We got it for my daughter's birthday in 2016. I think it's discontinued now - at least I don't see it on their website. They have an 11' "longboard" model on sale for about $500.

The model we have is good - even at about 8 lbs pressure it's very solid. I finally got an electric compressor pump and at 10lbs it's a rock - the "recommended" pressure is 14 lbs.
