I don't know what Sea Ray was thinking about when they designed the factory 'swim platform' if you can call it that. It was pathetic, nearly useless and downright dangerous when at the beach with the outdrive trimmed up. This swim platform from swimplatforms.com solves those problems and more. It adds such a new dimension to the boat. It completely changes the way we use the boat. Installation was relatively easy and it's solid as a rock. I haven't really had a chance to accessorize it yet (grills, chairs, etc.) but that will come in time.

That looks great. We had installed the older version of the swimplatforms.com one that was lower than the standard Sea Ray one, so you had 2 levels. I like the looks of this version.

We love ours but I wish that version would have been available, I would like it higher like yours as mine "blow holes" thru the vents when it's rough on the hook. Looks great.

That's what she said!

Sorry, couldn't let a setup like that one go. The platform really looks great.

LOL!!!

If you don't mind telling us, what did that cost? I would love to have a platform like that.

H2ONUT - It was roughly $1500 for the platform and about $500 for shipping from Phoenix to Rochester, New York. The shipping will vary depending on your location. It came in a huge very well built custom wooden crate with legs on it and arrived in perfect condition as a result. The platform itself is very high quality. I highly recommend the product.

I agree with LK, I like the newer model that you have over the one that mounts below the factory platform.

That really improves the livability of your 250. I installed one on my 290 , best money spent on an upgrade.

They offer the same style for my 290 and I have been seriously considering it for a couple months.

The usefullness & value added to the boat with the additional SF for the price seems to be unbeatable.

Nice. I've said before that if I planned on keeping my boat I would get one. Seeing that Newer stylye, I'm thinking that I would get almost a full return. Any thoughts?

Again, nice upgrade. Nice pics too.

looks like a patio, you should put a small palm tree and pink flamingo back there

Not sure about the return but it would be a hell of a lot easier to sell it with it on there. That was one of the deciding factors when I purchased my boat. I love that it covers the complete outdrive. Like I said, If I were buying one it would definately be the later design, room for a couple chairs would be nice. We use ours all the time and would definately miss it if it were gone but that single piece of real-estate is awesome.

XR, Do you have a picture if the under side with the supports you added?

NEVER use the portable "G" word here !

I have pondered the original that alwhite00 and I have and this newer all one level. The original is lower for easier loading and unloading (for trailer boaters). It is also easier to get down in the dinghy or to dangle your legs in the water. Going up and down the step feels natural on the original while the new design has a trip/ toe stubber where the new deck meets the original deck.

The newer is great for deck chairs and you might even be able to carry a small dinghy just sitting there, and of course no step.

What are other pros and cons?
