Hi Guys,
I had my cushions made by local upholsterer, I made the 1” thick Ash table to match. Turned out great!
Cheers

That is a very innovative approach to use the table as a headrest. Although, wouldn’t whiplash tend to occur in a fore aft vector? I don’t recall the coefficient of friction for polished wood and hair, but I think it would be too low to work as a friction brake.

Seriously both look great. What did you use for the coating on the table? Why did you choose ash? It certainly should be fine given its the wood of choice for traditional canoe framing and hockey sticks. Other question is where did you find enough to make a table? It’s really rare to see it in any quantity here in New England (guess it’s all being turned into hockey sticks).

Hi Henry,
I had the lumber yard glue and plane too the required sizes and thickness. I rounded and routed the edges and finished the the table with a product called Rubio. One shot process.

Very nice!

Looks great. Like the flooring too, is it a laminate?
Yes I purchased it from Home Depot for half price sale. 100% water proof, easy to cut and install. Removing the carpet was a pain, but well worth it.

Great idea, I plan to do something similar and also need to remove the carpet and headliner, if you have suggestions to make it easier to remove I welcome them

I used a sharp knife and a pair of pliers, slow and methodical.
