Howdy all,

I'm in Polson - south end of Flathead Lake. Just picked up an '84 Monaco 187 (I think-it's open bow). It has the 3.8 and OMC outdrive (stinger model? Lite silver color).... All is working well except trim switch on lower unit...gonna have to ask that question elsewhere.

I like chasing the lake trout here - this boat doesn't come with a kicker motor mount...not sure I can slow the 3.8 down enough - don't know if trolling plates are worth looking at.....

Also need to figure out how to rig up down riggers as a lot of fishing is done at 200' plus......

We boated there last year and had a great time. We know some folks in Whitefish and usually visit once a year or so.

Kickers are always an option and there are some creative ways and mounts that will get it done. It's a whole lot cheaper to run the kicker than the 3.8 especially with fuel prices on the rise.

Hi All, I'm new here as well. I have a very clean stock 1976 SRV 190 and love it. I live in New Mexico. Since that is the case, I have only a few lakes to choose from to run a motorized boat. Both close lakes to me are no wake lakes...EGAD! The closest lake I can run my boat on is 2 1/2 hours away.

I usually go to a lake here outside of the historic city of Tucumcharri, Conchas Lake. Nice place, a longer lake, not very wide, probably a half mile wide and 20 or so miles long. Beautiful though for a lake in the desert!

There is another down south of me called Elephant Butte but that is a party lake and usually full of drunk kids.

I have had a few vintage boats, a 1961 Aqua Swan, 1964 Lone Start Deauville, and a 1974 Starcraft, but just recently sold a couple and bought this nice 1976 Sea Ray SRV 190 which I WILL hang onto since it is in excellent condition and a great boat!

Has 400 original hours on it and has been obviously loved and well maintained by the original owner. I got it for a song too in my mind!

I live outside Albuquerque on a slamm ten acre ranch at 7420ft above sea level in the East Manzano Mountains.
