I have been working on a new forum layout to give a more comprehensive home page. The new layout will have a lot of new features that everybody can participate in. You can submit photos, submit boating news, and have better access to forum features. As we progress further it will have a calender to help plan events and all kinds of other bells and whistles. So please check it out and let me know your feedback. I stuck some boilerplate content on it, but you guys and gals can feel free to add what you want. Once I hit the magic button to integrate the forums these forums will take on the new style of the home page. In the meantime when you click on links that take you back to these forums you will see the existing or current "look".

Looks very modern and fresh colours.

I also like the push buttons, but I think the latest post list is what the most of the members like the most.

News ok.

I must say that I like the current layout also and that I think it works great.

I don't know if we need the "chatterbox" but maybe in practice this gives more seriousness in the topic posts...

But I think for us, the Forum message board is the most important, and I am very curious, how you think about the layout for that.

When I hit the magic button it won't affect the layout of the existing message boards. All the sections will be the same. What will happen is all the graphics from the home page will wrap themselves around all the content in the forums. Not sure what the side effects will be but they should be managable. Just might need to stay up late one night to make it all happen. So the blue stuff at the top of this page will go away and be replaced by the beach looking stuff on the home page, and the colors will change to what is on the other page. I'll wait for a few more replies, but if everybody is onboard I'll make it happen.

submitting images

Like the look, but my images don't go to the virtual marina. They are jpeg files and the error code says they are invalid. What else do you do after you provide a title, image and text and then hit submit? SBW

HULLAVA JOB! Love it. Thank you so much for providing such a nice home for all us other Searay dorks!

DORKS... Okay, I'm gonna hit you with my light saber... then send my elf-bred warrior that has 200 experience points to put a crystal freeze spell on your dwarf-bred thief... Dorks... hmmph.

Hey, the proposed new look is sharp! :smt038 Thanks much for putting the time in for the forum and for us that relocated from SRO as well. (Okay, yeah, I'm kind of dorky).

Looking good  Is there someplace to put who is online on the front page? I like the top poster section. Just need to keep my name up there, but I'm sure it will go away as more people find this great site.

Gee, does that mean I have to put the tape back on my glasses to hold them together?

Chuck - Who is online is at the bottom of the front page. Way...down....on the bottom. :smt024

Jim,

Thank you once again for everything you are doing.

While I haven't a clue how to do it, I'm sure that running a forum is rather labor intensive.
Thanks for allowing us docking space at your Marina, and I hope that you are finding that 99.9% of the people from the SRO Marina are the best.

Here's to all of us making this the best site on the web.... :smt038

Looking good.

Love the new layout, looks great!! Is there anyway to change the width on the topic column?
