I’ve seen a lot of posts about new flooring. New floor installed in cabin complete. I can DIY some stuff onboard but I chose to hire this out and I’m pleased I did. We went with Plasteak for flooring material.

Looks good... How did they cover the curved edge on the step down to the aft?

What material was used to create this elegant look

Look great! Is your curved trim to the mid cabin the extruded vinyl that is stainable? That's what I used. Hopefully you don't have to remove your salon table to get the hatch open.

I hired this job done but I’m pretty sure Plasteak offers a trim for finishing off the edges so it’s a perfect match.

The people at Plasteak are very helpful when we left the carpet behind plus they have a wide range of products. We went to there shop which is twenty minutes away and they helped use pick out the flooring. We also had someone install the one piece vinyl that we went with. After pulling up the carpet the need for a 1/2" sub floor to level everything would be the easiest way to go. Beside leveling it helped stiffened up the floor and helped with sound deadening.

boatguy49036, that flooring looks fantastic. how did they prepare the old floor? did they sand it or use chemicals to remove the old glue? i would love to know a bit more, we just removed our carpet yesterday.

DVX316, you apparently replaced carpet. do you have pictures or suggestions to how to prepare the floor before new wood is installed? we have carpet removed, and questioning how to remove glue from floor.

I was lucky enough that most the glue came up with the carpet the we installed a 1/2" plywood sub floor under the new flooring
