My friend Scott from Vector Imaging has stepped up to the plate to advertise on CSR. I first used Scott 2 years ago and have not been disappointed since. Scott's company, Vector Imaging, makes custom plastic dash panels and other similar components for boats. He really does some amazing work, and makes an electronics installation company like ours look really good when we integrate one of his panels. So if you are repalcing a display on your helm be sure to call Scott. He will hook you up with a perfect panel. Thanks for signing on Scott!

Thanks Jim, I am very happy to be here, I have been making replacment searay panels now for the past couple years. there is no panel I cannot reproduce and I already have quite a few of the templates from the 270's to the 450's and many in between. My pricing is also much less then what searay used to charge even though I use much higher quality material. If anyone has any questions do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks

Welcome aboard Scott. What kind of boat do you have?

Do you have the panels for a 1999 330DA? Mine are fine, but noticeably faded. Might as well do both the gauge panel and the switch panel. Do you reuse the EL stuff, install new, or backlight with something else? Frankly, I find the EL too damned bright. When the gauges are light just right, the backlighting is far too bright. Adjusting the dimmer to make the backlighting at a more appropriate level and the gauge lighting disappears. Doesn't seem like my boat is the only one with this problem. I've seen other with the same issue.

I'd rather have different backlighting that was more in sync with the gauge lighting or separate dimmers for the instruments vs. the backlight. Considering the exiting layout, the only thing that I can think of that would work that wouldn't look like crap is a stacked dual concentric linear taper potentiometers, controlling independent constant current PMW dimmers. One dimmer would independently drive the EL high voltage supply and the other would drive the gauge lighting. Your thoughts?

Best regards,
Frank

Hey guys, Scott made up all new panels for my entire bridge. I still need to get some pics, but let me tell you, they're awesome!

Scott didn't have a template for my boat so I sent him my original panels. By the end of the week, the new panels were back. Talk about anal! The switches were all wired up and heat shrink wrapped, he was able to reuse my dimmer switch and made me some tricked out LED backlighting. The LED backlighting has been bright enough for me to see under the dash in total darkness as well.

The 100% restoration of my 1992 370DB has been a long hard project. Scott worked with me to ensure I got exactly what I was looking for and would call me with updates as the project went on. Vector Imaging is one of only three vendors/suppliers I have used on my boat that I can recommend without reservation.

Scott, I promise I'll get picks up soon so everyone can see your quality work. Great to see you on this site.

Jonathon

Scott also made replacements for both panels on my boat from the originals. They are perfect in every way! Highly recommended!

Jonathan I'm still dying to see your boat.

Frank the 330 is my most popular model. I can do them no problem. for backlighting I use LED's that are pretty bright, but if they are too bright I can change the resistace to suit you. I do not use EL tape because it does not last , I used to use it and ended up replaceing a lot of it so now I stick the the LED's I can adjust the brightness so that you can just use one dimmer to control it all, and you will not need any converter boxes as I solder on the proper resistors myself.

If you have any other questions email me to scott.cam@verizon.net I can track questions easier throught emails.

Thanks Frank.

Welcome aboard Scott. What kind of boat do you have?

I have a 180 Gradywhite sportsman, with a 1985 115PTT Johnson and a caulkins trailer. It was given to me and was in need of a floor and transom. I fixed it all up and use it for trolling for Striper in the Narraganset Bay.

Sure, here are a few searay panels I have done, some before and afters. You can really see in the 4th pic that my burl looks like real burl wood and searays looks like smeared paint.

Any chance you might have a template to make something for a 2006 290SD with single engine?

Probably not but if you can get a picture of yuoru console I can check, either way I most likely can reproduce it

What did he say?

Scott,

I've got a 2001 Sundancer 240 and the upper instrument panel has started cracking. Do you have a template for this model?

Thanks,
Mike

Scott's work is top notch. Four new dash panels for me for a total reconfiguration - all new electronics and everything fits and is labeled perfectly. Also a new systems control panel. Will put up some photo's soon. Good communication and a super price.

Hi Scott,

As you can see from my signature, I have a 1988 390 EC. When I pull the boat out this fall, I want to have my dash panels redone by you. Other than taking some good pics before removing the gauges, switches, etc., what steps should I be taking to start this process?

regards, Ken

Not much else really, Seeing the pics before you pull the panels apart would be helpful, if I have them, you will not need to send them.

Thanks Ken.

Hi Scott ,do you have templates for an 86 300weekender by chance ?It's next winters project but i thought i saw a similar one on your website a while back .thanks
