New Cleaning soap

At this time I am using their soap on have my hard top and just water on the other half to see if it's really doing the job.

I can tell you it is. I will try to post some photos next month.

Update on this new Smoove suff.

I purchased the Pro-Cut 1000 Professional Polishing Compound and the White Cloud High Gloss Polymer Protectant from Amazon and used them over the Memorial Day weekend. Quick results: this stuff is great to work with, is very forgiving and the results are impressive.

Polishing compound
The gelcoat on the sides is in decent shape, not much gloss. The compound went on very easily using a white wool pad on a rotary polisher. Set on low for the first pass to clean and deoxidize with medium pressure, then on a bit faster (2.5 on the dial) with light pressure to polish. I'm very, very happy with the results. It didn't take out deep scratches but hard pressure did take out medium scratches. It produced a nice shine on it's own. Very noticeable improvement and the best shine I've had in a while. Has zero odor. Did the whole boat with about 1/2 the bottle.

White Cloud polish
After polishing, this was applied by hand with a microfiber cloth. Has a pleasant, somewhat tropical "waxy" smell. It probably would have been better to use a foam-filled applicator vs. just a cloth. It went one fine but the cloth I used was a bit "draggy" and wadded up. Buffed using the rotary set on 2.5 and Smoove's yellow wool polishing pad. The polish came off VERY easily using light pressure. The shine went from great to WOW; the hull hasn't had a shine like this in years. It also did a great job on the stainless bits like through hulls and port light frames. I used perhaps 1/4-1/3 of the bottle.

I have the boat wash but have yet to try it.

For comparison I've used Shurhold's Buff Magic and Pro Polish, various 3M products, and Maguires cleaner wax in past years. My standby is the Maguires because it's easy; results are decent. Not impressed with any of the 3M compounds and waxes. Last time I tried them I actually threw them away 1/2 way through. Notably, I HATED Buff Magic - it clogged my pads terribly and dried out leaving gunk on the gelcoat. Pro Polish was really underwhelming in it's shine. With the Smoove compound the it would leave some residue on areas of the boat hot from sun, but a bit of fresh product on the pad cleaned it off.

Anyway, so far Smoove is good stuff. I do wish the containers were a bit smaller and therefore less expensive.

I've been a big fan of the Buff Magic/Pro Polish products, but I do agree with your statement about it clogging up the pad and leaving residue after you are done. I need to do a round of buff / polish / wax soon, I may give this a shot. I found the Pr-Cut 1000 on Amazon, but didn't see the White Cloud polymer, the only thing that came up was the Smoove "bubble gum" polish. Looks like it's out of stock on Amazon.

Do you need to follow up the polish with anything else, like a good Carnauba wax or something?

Strangely I don't see the White Cloud on Amazon anymore either. You can get it from Smoove's website though. http://www.smoovewax.com/products.html I looked for it on BOE but couldn't find it on the site.

The White Cloud is a wax replacement. No need for anything else. I sprayed some water on my boat last night and the water beaded right up.

Thanks for your results and for the comparison! I too use Shurhold's Buff Magic which seemed to be all the rage just a few short years ago. But I agree with you and the others, it clogs up my wool pads like crazy. I think I will give this Smoove Pro-Cut 1000 a shot!
