Hi Everyone!

My name is Lori and I am 36 years old and purchased a 28 foot SeaRay last summer. I had it at Flying Point Marina on the Bush River but right now it is in my front yard covered in 3 feet of snow! LOL Would love to meet new friends and plan rendezvous on the Chesapeake Bay area for this summer. I will need lots of good advice on many things from all of you more experienced boaters. I grew up on a 34 foot Chris Craft when I was a little girl and my xboyfriend had a 28 foot Bayliner but I took a chance and decieded we needed more female captains out there on the Chesapeake Bay this summer! LOL Dont worry guys I wont apply lipstick or talk on the cell phone while driving! LOL I am not sure where I will be keeping my boat this summer but looking for the best prices. I live in the Glen Burnie/Pasadena area right now. Please send me a mesg and add me as your friend if you boat in the Chesapeake Bay area. I have middle age kids and a small dog and I am a great cook and can throw down at boat tie-ups! Hope to hear from you all soon!

Thanks NotOnTime (Lori)

Phil would have looked out for it at Flying Point, maybe even cleaned the snow off of it, that's just how he is...........welcome to CSR

Definitely movin' on up girl - got rid of Bayliner* boyfriend and became a Sea Ray Captain. Welcome aboard and I am sure your offer to cook will not go unnoticed here.

*BTW Bayliners are not held in the highest esteem on this forum as you will eventually find out.

As far as I know Bayliners are not held in the highest esteem anywhere!!!

Welcome aboard! I am sure that you will find boating on the Bay is great. I am on the Bohemia River, and there are lots of great places on the Upper Bay to hang out for the weekend on the hook. Many fine marinas available for weekends too. We are always in fresh water, so swimming and generally floating around in the water is always a pleasure. I look forward to meeting you and sharing some of the finer spots for weekends in our part of the world. You will find many weekend raft-ups posted on CSR as we get closer to the season, great family friendly activities. Feel free to e mail me at any time, dellis2628@aol.com .

Welcome Lori!

Search around the site and you'll see lot's of tips on marinas and places to go around the Bay. Feel free to ask anyone for specific advice. Welcome aboard!

Hello from Lauderick Creek. We're just off the Bush River and are still relatively new boaters. Purchased our first Sea Ray 24 in 2005. 3 months later purchase a Sea Ray 320 over in Gunpowder Cove. (Super Marina, btw!). Purchased our 2007 Sea Ray 38 in 2008. Think we'll stick with this one a bit longer. Boating on the bay has been an experience that is beyond words. Enjoy your new purchase and see you on the water. We usually hang out at Still Pond. If you haven't been there, check it out.

Hello Hans...

I didn't know that they would let you dock in front of Harborplace like that. Did you guys just pull up and tie off or did you need to hail the Harbormaster to get permission first?

You can hail after you get in, first come first serve.

They charge you for it, I forgot how much, but it's a couple bucks for 4 hours. Hans had to pay double cause he's German!

Welcome Lori. I keep my boat on Tilghman Island. It's nice and a little less expensive. The down side is the bay bridge and the associated traffic. So, I just leave at odd hours and stay longer...

We were popping Champagne corks at the joggers going by, trying to hit them on the run…. Double points if they were from Wisconsin.

Welcome! I hope to make it up to the Annapolis area this summer to visit. Congrats on the purchase!

Hey Hans, looks like we aren't hanging out at Gunpowder for spring comissioning.........Bill, I guess it's me & you.
