New camper Canvas in progress

I started to look for a place to drill a hole in the dash to install a 12v aux port. Then I squat down and see one under the helm right beside my radio mic plug! Thank god because I wasn’t looking forward to drilling a hole in the dash. Speaking of. Why doesn’t someone make a usb charger that plugs into a blank switch spot? Every boat I’ve been on has at least one empty slot.

oh, like this?

IMAR for isinglass and just plain water for the sunbrella canvas.

Mine are now 6 years old (in the water 24/7) and are still in great shape. I’m in salt and rinse down after every use. I also dry the isinglass and glass with a chamois after rinsing. FWIW I also have mesh screens covering the isinglass and glass windscreen when not using the boat.

Almost done. Still waiting on a shade panel for us to block the morning/afternoon sun.

Any recommendation for a sealant to use on the sunbrella?

do you have any pics of the mesh screens installed?

Yes. They are super bright and allow color changing capability without running new wire.

I saw them posted here:

I ordered them from here:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B015IY7VU4/ (spectrum RGBW option)

I can dim them, and change the color from white, red, blue, green, purple, orange. You do this by toggling the factory switch in the dash.

You unscrew the factory lights, cut the wire, splice these in and just snap these in place. No drilling or fiberglass cutting is required.

I just wish I could find a less powerful (and cheaper) version to go in the floor that matches the design but puts out less light. I don’t need the floor lighting to be as bright as these. Getting five more of these would raise some eyebrows with the finance department. I’d also rather spend that money on new electronics.
I put 4 of these lights in my hardtop this past weekend. I purchased male spade connectors the same size as the factory wiring. Crimped one on each light wire and snapped them into the old factory female. The lights can get brite for sure, a bit on the harsh side. I'd prefer a softer light. I thought of changing the floor lighting too but it would be too much, all on at the same time could trigger some Timothy Leary type physcotic event.o_O

My wife said for the price of the lights they should have come with a stripper pole.:D

The dimming function works really well. I wish you could dim the function where the lights cycle through the colors.

P.S. if your wife wants a stripper pole, get that woman a pole!!!

While installing my Lumetic lights, a cool mod for sure, I found the previous owners 'cool mod'. He had changed the two rear lights to red using a bulb that didn't fit the Perko fixture and some electrical tape.

A technical question - We have a full cabin enclosure, but we were advised not to have the cabin closed off when underway, as it increases the risk of Carbon Monoxide inhalation. Is that true?

Before our enclosure we had exhaust fumes in the cockpit area, confirmed by both smell and CO monitor. This was regardless of the vent window or top vent.

With the cabin enclosure, I open the front vent, the top vent and roll up the rear door. I got less exhaust fumes and the CO monitor only showed a measurement once and that was when we were going slower than the wind pushing the fumes in the back. This is just two usage samples though.
