This week I purchased a 2007 Maxum 2000 SR3. I decided to register over here since Maxum's are no longer produced and the forums aren't as active as CSR. I figured the forum members wouldn't mind since they had the same parent company.

The surveyor finished the survey last weekendand I went along on the sea trial and it runs great. It's fully loaded with the 5.0MPI, bimini top, snap in carpet, wake board tower and 54 fresh water hours. I joined this forum in hopes of learning more about my new boat. The powertrain is identical to some Sea Ray's. This is my 2nd boat, the first being a Triumph 17' Center Console with a Yamah outboard. I've got a lot to learn about the I/O engine and the characteristics of my new boat. Most of my boating will be done on the Chesapeake Bay between Baltimore and Annapolis. My first few projects will be to get a chartplotter/fish finder installed as well as get a 2nd battery with the switch installed for backup. I hope to see some of you on the water.

Welcome to CSR! There is a huge amount of knowledge among the folks here, and I can say that I have been helped lots with questions and idea's when learning about the systems and mechanicals on my boat. We boat in the Chesapeake also, launching from Sandy Point State Park since we trailer. Hope to be in in the next couple weeks for a shake down run.

You figured wrong! So take you and your worthless piece of ...........

:grin:Just kidding, Welcome Aboard!!! I didn't realize Maxum's were no longer produced. Enjoy your new to you boat.

Pictures, pictures, pictures!

Probably have driven through your town during one of our many lacrosse tournament visits. Know we played some at Severna Park area.

Maxums are nice boats. Welcome. You will like it here. We have all sorts of traitors still on board here. Folks dumping their Sea Rays for Carvers, Whalers, Cobalts, big catamarans, some Chinese brand who's name I forget and others. We still like having them around.

Welcome aboard. I couldn't figure out how to open all your PICTURES though:huh:. Sounds like you got yourself a really good boat. That sure ain't many hours. And at least it's not a B-, B-, Ba-, Ba-, Bay-, B-,,,,,,,,,, oh you know. I'm gonna try to open those pictures again  Have fun, enjoy, and post some more PICTURES.:smt043

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I will be launching at Sandy Point next weekend depending on the weather on Saturday morning. I was going to take it out this weekend but with all the rain there is too much debris floating around the creeks near Pasadena.

LOL, I was waiting for someone to tell me to get the hell out of here. I'll repost pictures when I figure out how. It might be easier from my phone, I'm not sure. I'm not far from Severna Park at all. Severna Park has a great team.

Yea, the boat had super low hours and I couldn't pass it up for the price. I paid $360 for a marine survey to make sure I wasn't being sold something that had major issues and the only thing he found was a chip in the prop and a pop up cleat that wouldn't open. It was worth the peace of mind knowing that there was no moisture anywhere or any delamination of the fiberglass.

Here are some pictures.

I was able to upload pictures from my phone but for some reason they are all different sizes.
