New boat finally arrived

That air step system is interesting. I'm sure you have more pics of her!

i can post some more pics. It's at the yard and the interior is in disarray, floor boards out, exterior dirty from the trip. When she gets to the marina and cleaned up, I will get some more.

As an aside, the guys At the yard I am at are a talented group of people who do some amazing things with their hands. It's a lot of fun to walk around and see the different boat projects going on. some of the boats in the yard are very large. The yard manager is tolerating my nosiness so far.

I'm going to be a little nosey here myself...Can an you give us a brief rundown of what all had to be done between delivery & splash/running the boat?

The boat actually showed up in very good condition considering it spent several weeks on the bow of a break bulk freighter. I was excited to see our boat on the web cam going through the canal a few weeks ago, but figured it was getting hammered up there by the weather. It actually showed up looking good. The stretch wrap made it all the way to LA, and only blew off when driven down to SD by truck.

To answer your question:

While in the yard:
-Bottom paint
-Attach radar and sync electronics, radio, etc.
-Go through all through hull fittings, grease, lube. Verify hoses snug, double clampled...the other usual mech stuff that is checked.
-I am also have a through hull installed in fwd hull for a raw water wash down. 7 gpm pump, so we will win in the event of water fights.

It then goes to the marina, probably on Monday;
-Work out any gremlins with electronics systems.
-All batteres were closed cell, except for house batt's, so i am having those replaced.
-New anchor. The one they gave me is not very good, and we anchor alot, so i am having a 21Kg Ultra put on.
-Run boat with Volvo tech, verify proper speed reached at WOT, temps, etc.
-Basically a "mini" survey.

We spend 1-2 nights a week on our boat, year round, so we are part time live aboards in some respects. I am therefore having TV's installed in all rooms, more 110V outlets, and a few other improvements the admiral wanted.

Thanks!
Very interesting. Sounds like a lot of fun & I'm sure a little stress mixed in. For such an unusual purchase it seems as though all is going well. I hope it continues that way & I hope you keep us posted.
