New boat delivered with damage

Sorry Korkie but this is simply not true and for the most part, hyperbole. If damage or any deficiency is listed in the closing document then the seller or dealer is bound to provide corrective measures. One needs to be smart enough to ensure they are covered..... There is no one that will allow delivery and accept a 10% retention to the buyer; just simply doesn't happen.

I bought a new Ford truck a little while ago and it was missing the floor mats; we noted it in the sales contract and I had new floor mats not more than a week later.....
My bad, I meant with their money in your pocket you have all the leverage. A salesperson is a salesperson. Once the sale is finalized, most turf you to the service person.

I would imagine the damage is something that SeaRay is responsible to have fixed. It’s unlikely that they would fail to stand behind their product and not want the customer satisfied ASAP.
The dealer is probably billing SeaRay for the labor so they are probably more than happy to do the job.
If for some reason the dealer fails to do the job properly and there are leaks then you could always follow up with SeaRay.

I work a large boat dealership. I can honesty say that I am put in their position a more often than you can imagine. You have the give the dealer a little trust and not drill down on them IF they are taking the correct steps in a timely fashion to correct the issue.

Things happen, people make mistakes. Be patient I am sure the dealer wants the transaction to proceed just as quickly as you want your new boat!

Sea Ray is a premium boat builder who prides themselves on perfection. I am sure that things will get resolved and handled professionally.
