Man, I would love to hear what that sounds like. :smt101
I upgraded from a half-working tape deck to a cheap brand CD player and installed another set of speakers (total of 4). But I have zero bass. Thinking of installing a powered-subwoofer just so its "listenable" without sounding ugly, but that's about it.

Nice setup; and a bunch of cash I'm sure.

I remember about 15-20 years ago there was a short-lived product that claimed antifouling by ultrasonic waves.

The idea was that the little floating organisms that foul the bottom of a boat wouldn't be able to stick to the hull in the presence of the ultrasonic waves.

Must not have worked, because I quit seeing the ads.

Your set up makes me wonder if subsonic sound waves from the subwoofer would do the trick? Might be a good argument for NEEDING a subwoofer, as opposed to just wanting one.

the system was a much needed upgrade.

still need to add a few things but one sub does a lot for the overall sound quality.

 another sub will sound even better

oo.. I like it!! I mean ... the admiral and I have learned so much on CSR! It must be true!

Great looking setup ehaze

correct, the radio is in the glove box. I installed most of the system and had the installers do the sub box, amps, and the battery connections.

From the CD player I ran the cables under the glove box area to the wall where the walk through is. From there I went straight down into the ski locker and across to the driver side. Then up to the amps.

I used these zip tie tabs in the ski locker so the cables wouldn't get caught on anything. They sell them at Home Depot and are nice to have around.

I'm going out on the lake Thursday and I'll take some more pics to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.

(had to borrow a pic from boat trader)

guess the installers broke the zip tie holding the stuff up.

by the way, make sure you have some help when you try and get out of the ski locker.

Hey, I've got a curiousity question for anyone.

Im doing a similar setup as eHaze did (putting a 'powered subwoofer' in the back seat area) - and Im trying to determine if it'd be ok to run the wiring from head unit, down the port side, through the engine compartment and into the storage area...

I thought about sending the wires through the ski locker also... and then down the starboard side... but it looks like the stock speaker wire is going like the way i mentioned...

my only worry is that is my sub's performance going to be downgraded due to the rca cable going through the engine compartment (heat - noise - vibration - etc...)

Thx.
(sorry for thread hi-jack)

i wouldn't worry too much about the RCA wires.

how much power are you pushing on the powered sub?

what boat is this going in?

have you thought about mounting this under the driver or passanger dash?

(i'm lacking on the correct boat terms)

2006 Select.

Yes, actually, that was my first choice, until I realized that it just will not fit properly (or easily) under the dashes. The sub enclosure is too 'odd shaped'

Luckily, I had a Sea Ray tech leave a VM yesterday... so im going to call him back and see what he says.

I have my sub in the under the rear seats right next to the engine compartment. the wires run right through the engine compartment. I have no problem what so ever. In fact I do not even know where the wires are located in the engine area. My backup battery is right next to the main battery. The area next to the engine compartment has a lot of space and a lot of airflow which is what a sub needs to sound right. Perfect set up.

I know I posted this before but make sure to get some high range tweeters installed near ear level. They make the sound much better in the boat.
