Been lurking for a few months and took the jump. We've owned several Sea Rays '90 220 DA and a '96 270, enjoying them on the NC coast. Sold the 270 when I retired from the USMC, moved to Raleigh, and we decided to rent the EI beach house. Had my fill of being a landlord and now use the house on the weekends but downsized to a center console outboard (easy to maintain and versatile for weekend usage). Now that our daughter is in college we have fewer of the demands on our time that use to keep us from the beach. Planning on moving back into the Sea Ray cruiser life (280/290 SD?) and full time at the beach. Probably a few years yet but the info gathering has begun.

Welcome to the club Sarbog! I am also new here. You will find everyone here very helpful.

I personally ordered the 240da because I am looking for something easy to trailer and easy on my wallet. Otherwise I would have gone with the 280. It is very similar to the 290 but It has much less draft according to the spec. Good luck.

Welcome to the NC Sea Ray family! We're a ways south of you, but lovin' life down here at Wrightsville! I've really found that the 260 is perfect for what we do around here (short trips and days on the hook). Let me know if you're ever down in this area.

Welcome! We're a bit north in the Outer Banks. You found a good place to come to for assistance, advice, jokes, etc...
We were in Raleigh and decided to move here full time last year - so good luck with your planning and with finding the right cruiser!

Welcome. I grew up in the Raleigh area (Cary), and my family also owned a place down at Emerald Isle for many years. My parents have now retired and moved to Tarboro, and my dad is looking at getting back into boating, also. Our EI house was on the Intercoastal, not too far from the marina.
