New 43 Sun Dancer has me and won't let go...

Anybody want to make me an offer on a fiscally responsible decision?

Wow, I never felt so good about my decision, thank you!

I hear you but all of us here are probably in a lot better shape than Brunswick is right now. They are hoping and praying that they don't have to start spinning assets off to remain solvent.

I asked the MM people yesterday to confirm info that indicates the "big" sales are international to the Mid East and the Pacific Rim...that's a truth. I was also told that Miami was a very good show for Sea Ray with 91 units sold. However, most of that was international.

If that trend continues don't be surprised to see SR move manufacturing to the Pacific Rim.:smt013

John,

DO NOT sea trial the 43..........it will make you think you own a barge. I spent an afternoon with the one our dealer has and its performance is fabulous. I'm not an early adopter of anything Mercruiser, but the Zeus drives have had a ton of thought put into them and into the software. The boat is really efficient due to 2 things: the bottom on a Zues boat is the cleanest bottom you will ever see on a Sea Ray....there just is no drag. The second reason for the efficiency is that they are powering the boat with B series engines when older boats need C series Cummins. That in and of itself bothers be because they are getting the hp by turning those little guys up to 3400rom @ WOT and I remember when the B series engines couldn't handle the loads when they were rated at 300 hp.

Running the 43DA seriously reminds be of a v-bottom ski boat........35 mph, crank the wheel over 1 turn to the stop and she'll lay a rub rail in the water and turn in just about 2 boat lengths at cruise speed.

I do not find the help station to be very well designed....in fact it was uncomfortable for me. I just figured it was my old school way of thinking, but honesty, I don't think I could handle the joystick location relative to the controls.

SKyhook is on the boats, but the Sea Ray is still worried about the liability. With Zeus pod control, the boat will respond right now........what if you lose a GPS fix temporarly, the boat drifts 5 feet, then it rer-acquires the fix?......the boat will regain its position @ up to 1800 rpm and if the occupants are not seated and holding on, they could easily be thrown down or overboard depending upon where they are or what they are doing. The dealers all know this and any salesman that tells you you will have Skyhook is deceiving you because the dealership he works for knows there are liability concerns. HOpefully, Sea Ray/Brunswick, or whoever, will resolve this issue soon.

Frank,

When I asked the rep about Sky Hook I interjected about loss of signal. The reply was " I'm not sure...I'm not that familiar with the system". Now I'm thinking that might be a "canned" answer:huh:

I would love to take one out though.
