New 265 owner based in UK

Sorry I forgot to answer your fuel question
We now have E10 gas which as it states is around 10% ethanol, obviously our friend in Russia has mucked things up a little with fuel prices going crazy for a while, but settling down some. As my post mentions above, I budget for around 50 hours annual engine time at lower cruising speeds, so overall fuel costs are not our single biggest cost to run the boat.

Marina fees, Government licences, insurance and annual maintenance would be our biggest cost. Boating as a % of net income is an expensive pastime in the UK, but my wife and I have few other vices…
E10 gas is tough in the marine environment. We are lucky that most of our marinas sell non-ethanol gasoline - which i use in our waverunner and dingy.

it is actually illegal to put ethanol in marine engines some crap about environmental effects. so not sure why it would be legal in Euro (of course they are not nearlyy a nuts as we have become here (I think Twitter is exposing the culprits as we speak)

That's crazy. Have never heard of an 85% ethanol fuel sold at the pumps. We run 10% for most of the season and then switch to 0% during the winter when she spends longer periods on the trailer.

After reading both of your post tonight, I thought I had read the article that was attached wrong at the office today and I just went back and reread it in its entirety. This is the paragraph under the second video/picture.

"As a boater, you certainly should know that E15 is not approved for use in boat engines, and it should only be used in 2001 and newer cars and light trucks. Boat engines have only been designed to use fuel with up to 10 percent ethanol, known as E10. In fact, pumping E15 into a boat, motorcycle or lawn mower is a violation of federal law."

Damn.. Not sure why I put 85. Meant 15. I have never seen E15 up here. Sorry you second guessed yourself.
:D
For the record, I wasn't in an office today. More of a contortionist, in-framing a DT530 with the back 2 cylinders behind the firewall. Maybe not enough oxygen to the brain.
