...and first time boat owner! Just wanted to say hi and express how exciting it is to finally own a boat. We have had it out twice, the previous owners took pretty good care of it.
It is a 2005 Sea Ray 180 Sport.
Unfortunately, due to the age of the motor, the alternator belt snapped as we were leaving the sandbar last Sunday which made for a fun ride back to the boat ramp with no power steering
-- New belts should be arriving today (replacing both the power steering and the alternator belt for good measure).
I am slowly reviving it back to life. I compounded the entire gel coat and then went back over with wax with some good Marine Meguiar's products and it looks like a brand new boat now.
One thing (of I am sure many future questions) that I couldn't find via search was the pin mounts for propping the motor door hatch have fallen off and was wondering if someone could post a picture of the proper placement of where they sit. I thought I could maybe try some epoxy or some other adhesive to mount them. The lowers are still attached at the moment. Then I would just need to buy the 20" extended struts x2 and I should be back in business.
