Spent a little time reflecting about comments on my posts as well as comments on other members posts.

I have a suspection (suspicion) that everyone here is a expert, everyone will find a flaw in everyone else’s comment, and no two members can agree on anything.

This post is a test to see if we will get consistent answers or not for the simplest, most basic and obvious question.

So, what does 1 + 1 = ???

I'm going to go with 2. Looky there I agree with ENstig8or, Boatman37, and chuck1 (pies are round here in the North also) Yesterday I couldn't spell expert, but today I are one.

fo·rum
ˈfôrəm/
noun
noun: forum; plural noun: forums; plural noun: fora
1.
a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Your posts may be better suited for a more unidirectional sharing format such as Youtube. What you describe as "everyone here is an expert" is exactly what this place is supposed to be. Seeking/sharing opinions and experiences, many times differing.

You're going to be zero fun to exchange posts with if you only defend, defer or otherwise dismiss every response and/or suggestion you get. That's kind of, sort of, not the point of an online forum? I could be way off here.

I do apologize for my recommendation against flush-mounting that chartplotter at knee-level. Mine was a terrible idea and I'm not an expert. You're going to love the way it looks.

And.....any first year engineerd should be able to prove that 1+1=3 and that a can of beer will cool faster in the fridge on it's side than it will vertical. ;)

Someone please call BS if this falls apart somewhere. The internet is soooo useful sometimes:

Let
a=b

Multiply both sides by b,
ab=b^2

Subtract a^2 from both sides and factorize:
ab-a^2=b^2-a^2
a(b-a)=(b+a)(b-a)

Simplify and add 1 to both sides:
a=b+a
a+1=b+a+1

Now since a=b (the starting point of this proof), we can write this as:
a+1=a+a+1
a+1=2a+1

And in the case where a=1, we have:
1+1=2+1

So, therefore,
1+1=3

No worries. We are copacetic.

Where about are you in Western Michigan? Annette and I will be in Ludington MI about 7:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday then driving to Gaylord MI.

If Gary a.k.a. Four Suns was still active around here, I think he’d back me up that online forums exist so people can hide behind made-up user names then... well...then misbehave.

Don't you see? You all fell right into the trap and have supported his hypothesis!

I don't know Ron. It looks like most had a good time with it.
Some took it for what it was and got the answer right.
Some answered both questions.
Some posed other questions.

I really don't think anyone came off as being and expert and the only disagreeable post I've seen is the one I'm typing right now and I'm always right because I'm an expert!.:p
