Need windlass for 390sf

Do you really want to invest the money in a used windlass and the time/money in installing one? Consider the changes in technology, and the potential for problems with and old 12v motor, its brushes, not to mention the switch gear or solenoids, all of which have been in a corrosive environment all their lives. Besides, unless you find a storm damaged boat, someone decided to sell a used windlass for a reason.
As an alternative, consider a source that stocks and sells obsolete and excess inventories from manufacturers like Flounder Pounder Marine.

I'm with Frank. Get a new one if you can.
I installed a "Good" free fall rope/chain on my old 300 Sundancer and it was bullet proof. Never hesitated or failed me. One of the things I miss most about my old boat.
