2003 Sundancer 280

Twin 5.0 Mercruiser with Bravo III
I have a 2004 280 Sundancer under contract to purchase in Texas. I need Trailer Set-Up Specs for the bunks on a tri-axle trailer I am having made to trailer boat back home to Arizona.
Trailer Manufacturer needs:

Outer Chine
Approx. Rise of Boat.

If anyone has trailer set-up information, it would be appreciated. It would be great to have the bunks set up before going to pick up the boat. Thanks !

Did you get that information? I am currently trying to fit my 280 on a trailer that was made for a sunsation.

If you live near the 101 and Cactus you can measure my boat if that would help.......

Matthew,

I also have a 2001 SR280 with twin 4.3s.

My trailer was built in 2017, so the vendor will still have the specs.

I can send the vendor info to you if you want to contact them for the details on the trailer.

It is a Hi Tech Marine in Panama City, FL.
Very nice triple axle aluminum.

I have an '04 270 Sundeck, not a Sundancer. Happy to measure it if you think it would help.

I found this on a FB group

So do you still have the measurements that were ultimately correct?

That sketch from the facebook group seems about right. However, the height above the frame rail for the roller may or may not be correct, depending on the height of the rear bunks.

Can anyone confirm the 24.5' length boweye to transom and the 50" width on the rear bunks?

I can confirm that 50" width is incorrectly narrow to hit the outer stringers.

I would be more concern with the height of the outer bunk and getting them as far out from center as possible. The center block take almost all the weight and the bunkers are there to keep it balanced. When I had my trailer set up for my 310 Da. the standard bunk supports were not tall enough to reach the hull at the furthest part of the trailer due to the rise in the hull being so steep.

That's not how boat trailers work. You're describing the setup for lifts and storage racks.

The weight on a boat trailer should ride on the rear main bunks which should be positioned under the outer strings for any significant transport or storage. All other bunks are for alignment and to maintain balance and prevent bouncing. Most commercial transport trailers have nothing other than long rear main support bunks.
