Well today I realized my boat is not a Weekender but a Sundancer due to having an aft "cabin"... IE Batcave.

I have spent the summer doing some upgrades and add the Garmin Fuel usage sensor...now the fun part... whats the gallons on a stock tank? I cant find a manual or anything else that lists specs beyond the length of the boat. Even the prop charts are now dead links for this boat.

For those that remember my old question on props... literially haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet. I have only had the boat out 3 times this year due to work and the bottom needs lots of love and paint... I hit 4000rpms yesterday and an entirely out of control...11mph at 13gph....I wanted to cry.

My 1986 250 DA was 75 gallons so I would think the 1987 would be the same?

Where did you buy the flow meter I'm thinking of adding that to my 89 268. How.much were the parts

Also, my 1986 I was running a 14.75x17 prop and could only hit 3800 at about 34MPH but I found it did have a slight ding in it. I bought a Solas Amita 3 E-Plus 15.8x15. I ran 32MPH at 4600RPM with that prop and got on plane much quicker.

thanks, i guessed 40g when I set the fuel flow up...juat to be safe. I got it from WM, ties into the garmin via the nea.system. Took longer to the pull the cord from engone bay then it did to install the flow sensor. I added a fusion radio that I tied into the garmin as well so I have full control without moving.

I still need to figure out what prop I have now. Will ve that sorted when I have the boat pulled for maintenance this winter...boating here is 9 months long..sometimes 8. Depends when winter arrives and leaves. lol

Sorry, forgot to say I think I paid $170 for the sensor. Its great, instant reading on what the engine is drinking, plus tells you how much fuel is left.

If you go to SR's website, you can download/view the specs for your boat - including the tank size. Or, look at the plate on the tank.

Obviously, you should be able to get more than 11mph. Is that GPS? The dash speedo is often unreliable. You should also be able to get to the mid 4K range for RPM, unless you are loading the boat up with a bunch of extra weight. 4K RPM and 13MPH doesn't jive - hence the GPS question.

Do you know how to properly trim the boat for hole shot and speed?

You can see what prop you have now - just trim the drive up and/or jump in the water and look. Easy peasy.

That was gps speed...before I put the boat in the water I checked the prop and it was not marked. My biggest issue right now if the crap growing on the bottom. I bet I have 150lbs of barnicals. I trim watching the rpms and gps speed...looking for the spot were i get lower rpms and more speed.

Searays website doesnt havr anything for a 87 sundancer, been on it a few times and google doesnt either that I was able to locate.

It's there. Go to models, then look for prior model years.

Look closer at the prop - between the blades, maybe on the hub. It should be there.

As far as the barnacles vs speed go... all bets are off till you get that cleaned up. Any bottom growth can have a huge impact on performance.

Found the little 2 page brochure....now if I could find the owners manual! Thanks, didn't realize they listed it as DA.

I searched the prop to death when I had her trailer. Nothing anywhere. Even had my father in law check it incase I was having a case of stupids.
