This weekend I tried removing my steering cable. It seems to me there is a sleeve coming out with the cable and I don't have enough room to get the cable out with the sleeve coming out. I have tried pushing the sleeve back in but that was a no go. I was afraid to put something on it to try and tap it back. Thoughts, advice?[IMG]

Will after some internet searches I'm wondering if I removed a pin that I didn't need to. Since the cable has a hole in the end of it I removed the pin in the picture below. Now I'm starting to think I shouldn't have.

Time for a professional mechanic I think. Steering is too important to make a mistake. Sorry this happened!

I found a video that showed the one shaft moves in and out other. Once I figured that out then I bolted the gear end back up to the steering wheel and just turned it until the shaft came out of the actuator. Once you know how the system works it makes things a lot easier. I'm shocked at how little information there is out on the net when it comes to the details of repair a boat.
