Need help saving a track/trail on C80

I know this maty sound dumb but for the life of me I cannot figure how to start a track/trail, arrive at my destination, save and name the track/trail so I can follow it back. I usually go out for the day and by the time we leave to come back to marina it is well after dark. The large lake we cross has crab trap bouys etc scatterd about plus the occasional fog bank. Would like to use this as a helpful guide. Previous boat had a Lowrance and used this feature alot.
Yes I do have the 4 inch thick manual but do not understand alot of it. Can someone tell me in "laymans" terms how to do this, save it and then how to bring it back up??

Read page 4-19 in the manual... it explains how to start a track. Once the track is saved, it can be converted to a route and then reversed. I don't know how I can explain it any simpler than the manual does.
