Hi all,
I am new to the CSR and am looking for help getting information about installing an A/C unit in an 1988 270 Sundancer. I have no manual for the boat but read on Sea Say's website, that it is located on the port side under the V-berth and for that model it is a 10,000 btu unit. But the brand, actual measurements of the unit, etc. are not there. Can anyone give me some information on this? I would really appreciate any assistance on this. Thanks so much!!

My '89 300 DA has a Cruisair unit with reverse cycle heat. It too fits under the aft dinnette cushion. As for size, all I can say is it fits under the seat no problems and is a bit of a tight fit. Check some online sites for AC and get some measurements and compare against your available space. Its a great option to have if you boat in hot weather or need heat in spring/fall.
A few other things to consider, you'll need a thru hull outlet for the water above the waterline located under the dinette area also. The inlet, strainer, and pump for the unit are located under the aft berth and a hose like auto heater hose, runs over to the AC unit. Duct work runs to the v-berth and to the aft cabin and the main vent by the cabin steps. Again, this is on a 300 but I'd assume a 270 is similar.
