I'm trying to help my family sell our father's 1975 SRV 180. The boat has 131 hours. It's been garaged or in a marina since 1976. For the past 25 years it's been buried in my parent's garage. I recently had the garage cleaned out so the boat can now be pulled out and sold. The boat was launched 25 years ago to move it from the marina to my parent's garage. The boat took on water under the deck. The fiberglass hull appears to be in great shape. We're making the assumption that we have a bad boot causing the leak. The interior is in great shape. Overall the boat just needs a bath, the boot fixed, a new battery, and new fluids for the engine. I'm assuming the boat will crank easily. The boat has been sitting on a trailer. The tires hold air, but I can't speak to the trustworthiness of the trailer. I listed the boat on the classified section for $5000 or best offer. One of the commenters thought $5000 was high. It seems that reconditioned 70's era SRVs sell between 8K and 10K. I'm willing to take whatever amount is best offer. Do you guys care to share with me what you think the boat is worth? The boat is located in Knoxville, TN. My dad bought it in 1976 after winning a super bowl bet. He used it for a handful of summers and then moved on to other interests. It's been taking up garage space ever since. Everybody in the family that wants a boat already owns one themselves. No takers inside the family.

I personally would need to know if the engine runs after sitting that long and what other things work or don’t work like bilge pump etc to determine what it may be worth to a buyer. I find it hard to get some of the parts for my 2003’s SeaRay, imagine it would be really hard to find parts for a 1975. Cool looking boat though!

Nice looking boat, but sadly the sentimental value probably won’t translate in to dollars for you. It really comes down to it being a project boat for someone. Probably a worthy project for sure, but the next owner will likely put in more than he can buy a restored one for.

I have the same boat that I rebuilt from the hull up and rebuilt the engine too. If you undertake that project all parts are available to do that job, but budget it as a multi-year project.

We had a 1976 Bayliner that had been sitting in a warehouse since 1988. It had a known exhaust manifold failure. After my dad passed away, I had a surveyor come look at it. I had thought about re-powering it and using it. Everyone said that I wouldn't get my money back out of it. Well, tell me one boat that you will "get your money out of it"! Ha! In the end, we took the easy/simple road and donated it to a charitable organization. Done it 2 days.
