In 2019 I'll be keeping my boat a long ways away from my home port for several months and flying back and forth to it.

I am looking for some type of backup power supply that has the ability to sent wifi notifications so I can compare when the power is off versus when the power comes back on.

The marina is on a generator and the dock is not so it should have a wifi signal all the time.

Any ideas?

Are you just trying to know when you have power or are you looking for some sort of alarm about people going to your boat? Also have you thought of a solar panel if you are concerned about power?

If you're looking for a back up power supply, they're fairly common for computers. Just google it and you'll get returns like this one; https://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/prod...SEC-755-GOO-[59350046099]-[294061588957]-S-[]

I installed a camera on board helps me keep tabs on her in her slip over the winter. If i'm not able to connect to the remote camera for an extended period of time I go down to see if we've lost power. So the camera serves double duty.

Search for a cell tower based security camera (ARLO). This camera uses cell service to connect to it. It also can be set up to detect motion, which upon detection it sends an e-mail and text message to chosen.
You can set it up so it is looking at a night lite bulb that is on all the time, if the night lite goes out you get an alert. It has battery backup that lasts for 2 months.

You connect to the camera thru cell service and then get a visual verification.

You can also have it looking at your battery charger or a thermometer to see temp at a glance.

SIMPLISAFE is cellular based with burglary features, but also power, freeze, smoke, CO, high water etc..

Can't use cell service. Has to be wifi enabled.

I do have a camera though but it's setup for 12V.

Basically, I need to be able to see if my fridge turned off or not and for how long.

Use a frozen cup of water in the freezer and set a coin on top of the frozen water... Check it's position when you come back, is it still on top ? Is it on the bottom or is it in the middle ? I think they sell thermometers that track temp's too.

If you use a Nest camera it will send you an email anytime it loses power. Checking the camera's history shows a very easy to follow timeline between power loss and restoration...

grab yourself a nest cam and never look back - it is 110v and wifi does double duty to watch the vessel while away and if you put a cheap thermometer in view you can keep an eye on the inside temps. I have a couple of them on my boats to watch the bow and inside with a temp gauge, they work great and can record to the cloud.

Convert its plug to a 110 AC to 12V DC transformer then plug it onto the dock's AC. Ive done this for a few stereo head units. Cant imagine the camera would need more then a couple amps transformer. inside of $10 conversion.

Acurite remote temperature with sensor in Frig/freezer or both along with one in the boat. You can set your alarm temps high and low for each sensor,

In addition it commuicates online to cell and if it loses communications it will notify you of such as well as battery strength. Lose power and you are notified. Temp in freezer, or on boat wherever you’re monitoring and you’ll be notified.

I use the blink xt cameras. You can find them for 75 bucks on Amazon if you wait for a promo.
