Posted this in the Maintenance section last week but no response so figured I'd try here:

So looking to replace my impeller before we hit the water. I want mercruiser parts but not sure what the part number is? tried doing a search but couldn't find anything that was definitive. Boat is a 1986 Sundancer merc 260 alpha one gen 1. here is my serial number>0A593759

looking for the whole kit. not having any problems. runs at just under 160* but it was last replaced in june 2015 when we bought it. probably about 70 hours on it since then. not sure if i should replace the housing but if it isn't much more $ i will just replaced that too.

So looking for the Merc part number and where to order it from.

thanks

How about this: https://www.wholesalemarine.com/pump-kit-water-od-mercury-mercruiser-46-96148t-8.html

From Wholesalemarine.com, I buy a lot of my parts from them, but I have a Alpha I Gen II, so not 100% certain of the parts you need. I do agree that replacing the whole thing along with the housing is a good idea on the older style Alpha's. The housing is plastic and it does not take much to mess it up. The Gen II has a SS housing, mine is the original, and unless you overheat it or boat is areas with a lot of sand they will last for ever. Nothing at all wrong with the Mercruiser parts, but I have had good luck with most (not all) of the Sierra parts and it saves a little $$.
