I would like to see this in SC. When I was a new boater, I considered the class a must for myself and the insurance discount was nice too.
Even if people use common sense safety practices, the vast majority of un-educated boaters (at least on my lake) have no idea about "rules of the road".

I had my son and my grandchild take the course and they finished about a week ago. They did learn a few things also! I think the 26 year old age thing is too high but the higher ups think it's right.
