I am about to update my old Furuno system to have a Navnet v2 chartplotter display. My question is which charts are the best for this unit, Navionic or C-Map? I have looked at them, but cannot get a real life feal for the differences. Not only that but it is difficult to compare apples to oranges since the navionic Platnum charts are not compatable with the 1920C Chartplotter that I am getting. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I put in two of those 1920s and use one for the radar and other is chartplotter. I used C-map in the replaced raymarine plotter and stayed with C-Map.

Very happy with the C-Map card in general. Boat on Lake Erie and took it to the 1000 islands and while there was in and out of Canadian waters and all worked well.

The C-map program membership club is $80/year and with that you get the latest version of the card you want. I have M026, GL and the Maritimes.

Jeppsen now owns C-Map and Boeing owns Jeppsen.

Thanks for the reply. I chose the C-MAp. Partly because it has a lot of support, but mostly because the Sirius weather works with it.

C-Map charts for the Bahams use the "Explorer" charts which are simply the best and you can have and can also get exactly the same chart in a paper book for back up. There are so many charting advancer now and units with satellite look down imagery on screen right next to your Sirrus weather update and RMS feed on the ball game ...

I like to keep all this simple as possible. I recommend you go with proven reliable backed up technology available in CMAP

Now don't get me wrong I had Navionics charts in my very first chart plotter from Vigil! (Along time ago) and their stuff was great too, but since your major interest is the Bahamas, go Cmap with the Explorer charts.
