Navionics and Garmin CV53

Is Navionics already connected to this chart plotter because it haves active captain and I already added it on my phone and connected the two
 
Not sure what your really asking, but with Garmin Navionics charts are a subscription. Any chart already installed is probably Blue or Vision chart related.

Active Captain doesn't have anything to do with it, other then an update platform for the most part.

It's strange but, Raymarine has better Navionics charts then Garmin does, even though Garmin own's Navionics.

EDIT: Navionics is a separate app for your phone as well, don't confuse the two. They have nothing to do with each other. The Navionics charts not in the app, are subscription based from Garmin directly through Active Captain and Garmin Express.

Okay I think I understand what you are saying. I have a Garmin GPS chart plotter, it haves active captain, so I can connect it to my phone. I also have navionics on my phone with a year subscription of the cheapest for 25 a year. I am trying to figure out, if there is a way I can add the navionics to the Garmin plotter? If so, do I do it through active Captain. I am trying to plot routes with Navionics that isa not connecting to my plotter.

You'll need to buy a Navionics Chart card that comes with an annual subscription for updates to use in your chartplotter.

so should I be receiving one for subscribing to navionics? because I have not

Sorry that is what I was trying to say. The phone app has nothing to do with the chart plotter. And to use Navionics on the chart plotter you need a subscription like what @Shaps posted the link too. The only one worth sub'ing is the Navionics Vision+ -but not sure even then it's worth it, over the Vision+ charts you can still buy.

The issue I see with sub'ing Navionics is the extended features like auto-guidance expires after the year unless you keep sub'ing. The charts remain no matter what, it's the extended features your getting with the sub.

Yes I don't need all that stuff with my boat it don't have auto pilot I just need the maps and charts. I am new so I am trying to get the easiest and best way of doing things for safety reasons LOL

Understood, Navionics is a great back up. Along with being able to arm chair captain routes etc. and is a good learning tool as well. Nice to use to explore new areas and future trips and the like.

I am planning to get a newer boat maybe someday when I get use to boating so that I can go further in the ocean. :) I am definitely buying that then LOL
