Docked all day yesterday at Juanas Pagoda for the Navarre Fun Fest, put in about 9 am and stayed til after the fireworks at 10 pm. Great time was had by all and I got to show off my new Magma grill, shrimp and steak kabobs was the menu.
Was really surprised by the lack of boat traffic, it was steady but not overwhelming and we were the only boat at the dock for most of the day.
Boat ramp is right next to the dock so there was plenty to watch at least a dozen oh crap I'm going way to fast before slamming into the dock, one bayliner driven into the back of an H2, how they missed the trailer I do not know. Big dent in the back of the H2. And of course one zzzzzing I forgot to trim up the drive. And I will never cease to be amazed at the number of guys who have their wives fend off with feet or arms or leap from the still moving boat with line in hand, not my idea of fun.
Anybody else out there? Sea Ray definitely outnumbered all other boats.
Looking forward to next Sunday for the Crab Island kickoff.

Some of the best shows in the world are at boat ramps on the weekend. We sometimes get a cooler and some deck chairs and go to the local boat ramp, find a shady place under a palm tree and watch the show!!

The dudes to watch that you know don't have a clue are the ones that start screaming and yelling at their wives or girlfriends right when they get to the ramp.

One of my favorite stunts is the "let's launch the truck" trick. If any of these idiots ever saw exactly what the park mechanism in an automatic transmission looked like they would never park with out the brake applied again.

Have you ever noticed how many people can't figure out that you're supposed to get all the boat stuff out of the tow vehicle before you back down the ramp or even approach it?

Another tip off to a good show comming is some guy with 6~8 different kinds of 1/4" string, twine, electrical wire or what ever to use as dock lines.

Ofcourse honorable mention has to go to "where's the GD transom plug"..."oh, it's in the truck":smt038

What is sad though is what happens once they get away from the dock.

'Tiss the season to be jolly.:smt101
