Can any of you with a sundancer in N.C. tell me what N.C. uses to define the length of the boat when it is registered?

In my current slip, I have a hard limit of 33’ based on what is recorded on the registration. I’d like to consider a 310 or a 320. I’d actually prefer a 37, or 38’ boat but slip inventory is lower than boat inventory, and will likely get worse now that some local marinas were damaged in the hurricane yesterday.

My prior 280DA registration showed 28'. My 330DA shows 33'. I assume they get it off the title.

Registration shows what manufacture claims. Basically from bow eye to transom. I have had boats that when measured tip to end where 6 plus feet longer than registered. Guess it depends on whos holding the tape measure.

I’m in CB as well. Will also be wet slipped if I can ever decide on which model to purchase. And if I’m going to stay at my current slip. At my current slip I have a 33’ limit and a hard requirement to remove the boat during a hurricane.

Very cool! I'm at Carolina Bay. Well, the boat is at Carolina Bay. I'm in California until I can move to CB full time. No way I would be able to pull out for every hurricane.

We stayed there a few times before moving to CB. I have a slip at otter creek landing. Does your marina do slip rentals or are they all owned by the condo units? Did you find a 290 with v-drives or do you just stay on top of the outdrive maintenance?

Not all of the slips are owned by condo owners. I believe slips are available for rent or purchase.
Its an old boat, but new to me. I hope to stay up on all the maintenance. LOL Its a single engine with an outdrive.
