Looking for a marina recommendation for next week in mystic. I have no kids, just a dog.

The Brewer marina is just below the RR bridge and has a pool.
Staying at Mystic Seaport can be fun, but mostly for the kids.
Mystic Seaport Marine is close to town, but very basic.
These are the only ones I have personal experience with, but there are others along the river that I am sure are good.

I believe that Noank Shipyard, near the mouth of the river has the best fuel prices. (at least that was true last year).

I am a kid at heart hahaha. We are going to stay a couple of days in mystic and then jump over to Block Island for 4ish days.

I'll check out brewers, they always seem to have nice marinas.

Last trip we stayed in the Seaport..It was great..after the seaport closes it's just the crazy boaters..you have the whole place to yourself...That's when the party started.
Have fun..

I will be at Brewers wed through ?? then on to block too - Mystic river marina is nice too - Seaport marine (between the bridges) is basic (no pool etc) but you can walk everywhere - downtown/seaport is a short dinghy ride from brewers and there is a great town pier/dinghy dock - the ride is much further from Mystic river marina - look me up at Brewers I believe I'll be in slip A-33 or there abouts the boat name is Natural High - Let me know if you have any addl ?s etc - Mike

Post how u guys make out at that Brewers. we stayed there last year and wouldnt go back. Buddy A/c broke down ( on day one of a 4 day stay ) Serivce manager told us he couldnt get to it during our stay. I gave the guy my card asked if I could borrow a set of gauges and his meter to trouble shoot my buddys a/c as i own and A/c company. He said no . ( offered to pay / rent / buy his tools . again no )
So i said ull leave a transient boater with no car no means to get anything without a/c for 4 days in ur marina . He simply stated he couldnt help. the girl in the office came outside as we were leaving and told us there was another marina right up the road. We went there. They sent someone right over ( yes into another marina ) and fixed his a/c . Wish i remembered the names of the players . Anyway curious of ur experience. ( We have stayed at a ton of brewers over the years never had a bad thing to say except for this place )

Enjoy

Rob

Ok, I'm at Brewers Sat and sun leaving mon.

I told them that Rob said their marina sucked and I shouldn't go but she said they were nice and and that I should come.

I personally liked staying at the Seaport... The exhibits were really good... I especially liked the "how they made rope" one...

I'm looking forward to it. were there any good Whaling museums? I'm on my 3rd whaling book now.

They have good whaling exhibits... I never knew how gruesome of an industry that was until I visited Nantucket and Mystic... They have some good ships as well at Mystic.

Watch "Master and Commander" before you go.

Sweet. I'm also stopping over in Essex on the way back. I'm coming home with a blubber knife if it's the last thing I do.

that's what got me started on the whole thing. Damn book.

Yes, bringing my dink, dog, woman, and 10 bottles of wine. Should be fun.
