Greetings,

I am planning a family vacaton to North Myrtle Beach in late July. I will be staying in the Wyndham Ocean Boulevard Resort. Since I will not be taking my boat, I was considering towing my jet ski's up for the week, and had a couple of questions:

1. Are there good locations nearby to enjoy some jet ski day trips? Good spots to beach or enjoy the outdoors? Any suggested locations or day trip spots welcomed.

2. The resort does not allow trailers on the site. Are there any good storage places or marinas that could offer a reasonable rate to store my jet ski's for this one week period?

3. Is this a good location to bring jet ski's to?

As always, appreciate any suggestions or alternatives. Thanks again!

Your options for using your jet ski in Myrtle Beach are limited to the ocean and the ICW which is can be pretty narrow in places from Georgetown to Little River Inlet. The ICW behind Myrtle Beach is called the Ditch because its long, straight and narrow (<50' in some places). You can access the ocean from Little River inlet, Murrel's Inlet or at Winyah Bay in Georgetown. Otherwise you are stuck on the ICW. The ICW just north of Georgetown is actually the Waccamaw River which is an ancient cypress swamp bordered on both sides by old rice plantations. You could make the run from Georgtown to Little River in a few hours. There are several marinas for gas stop and food along the way.
If you are looking for picturesque sand islands to beach for a few hours you are not going to find that in the MB area.
