My Summer Is Over

I was up at the Apostles (Cornucopia) the week of July 4th, 1st week in August, and a long Labor Day weekend. Out of those 17 days or so, we probably boated 7. Too windy, to cold, or raining. I basically paid for a slip to look at my boat. Not a great year up there. I still love it though.

Hang in there Woody. It's nice to know of a fellow Club SR Boater in the area.
We boat out of Houghton on the Keweenaw Peninsula but we store it over at Bayfield for the winter. Next spring after launch we're thinking of renting a slip in Bayfield for a month or so and spend some time around the islands, it'd be cheaper than running back and forth across the lake a couple times.

I'm right there with ya. I started the "bummer" thread a while back. As luck would have it we had the first real heat wave of the year last weekend...right when all the family stuff starts complicating schedules.

I don't think I'm ready to sell yet but I have definitely reassessed my desire to get a bigger boat this year. To invest even more cashola into this hobby with less use (or years like this) would be a tough pill to swallow...I'd be better off with a bowrider and a tent at the marina. ha.

You guys could just move down here. Just don't start a business winterizing boats....you'll go hungry. 92* yesterday.

Planning on coming out Tuesday. Still decent weather here but our schedules the next few week are pretty hectic.
