Congrats! Both for you or you going to share?

If one's good two is better!...looks great.

Always good to have a spare! Nice looking boat! I'm biased though!!

If you needed somewhere to toss some of your extra money next time I can help!! lol

Just kidding, looks like a nice "pair". What are your plans for this one? A deal you could not pass up?

Yes, This is a good time of the year and economic status to make offers.

Lots O wheels...and bearings.

Our Sea Rays are kind of like rabbits. Not sure where they all come from...

Always nice to see another Sea Ray coming to Arkansas! Hope the snow does not slow you down.

What do you use as a tow vehicle (I am considering something different to pull mine)
and did you have to get a wide load permit?

This is my second 30' Sea Ray I've used my 06 Chevy 2500HD to pull back from Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale. 7MPG, but will get it done.

I recently purchased a 93 Chevy C3500HD, dually, soley for the purpose of pulling boats. Found out that it requires a Class A CDL to operate with that size of a load. Had to get DOT numbers for it and a commercial tag.

Yes. Oversized load permits required for all 6 states. (required in all 50 states, no exceptions) Got checked 3 out of 6 times at the scales on both trips. Whom ever tells you that an ozersized permit is not required for a boat or any load over 8'6" wide for whatever reason is absolutley mis-informed.

Flags on all corners, banners front and rear. Yellow warning light. number of axles, weights per axles, distance between axles, routes per state, am I forgetting anything?

Mississippi is the worst. They required that you have a Commercial Liabilty insurance policy naming them as insured on file. Doesn't matter if it's personal or not.
Went round and round with them twice.

Other than that, all good.

Sounds like you did it right.

A couple of months ago I briefly considered a 2007 290 Sundancer and decided against it because I like the easy mobility an 8'6" beam allows and wanted to avoid the process you described. I stepped down to a trailerable initially to allow easy travel.

Like your purchase of the '93 Chevy 3500, I am looking for a tow vehicle as my load is beyond my '07 GMC Denali tow rating by about 2700 pounds.

Are you happy with the '93 Chevy 3500? I am undecided between a used 2nd truck like yours or a new 3/4 ton Suburban/Yukon XL. I like the Denali a lot and would not enjoy giving it up. A used, dedicated tow truck is a great answer if it could be purchased reasonably and still be reliable.

I haven't had the C3500HD, long enough to know if I like or dislike, but I believe I will like.
My thinking is this. Since my day-to-day travel doesn't need the crappy milege of my 3/4 ton (around 10~12mpg) I will go back to a nice 1/2 ton Z71 LTZ.
